ManageSoft® continues fast pace in first half of fiscal year 2006

Global customer base grows with numerous major deployments and expanded implementations

March 15, 2006 Boston, MA, USA

ManageSoft®, a leading provider of intelligent solutions that help enterprises deploy, secure, and manage their client software and computing infrastructures, today announced selected financial and operational results for the first half of fiscal year 2006 — a period in which the Company enjoyed double-digit revenue gains while growing its worldwide roster of customers.

In the first half of fiscal year 2006 ended December 31, 2005, worldwide revenues for ManageSoft increased by 25 percent over the same period in the previous year. Helping to drive this growth was a 40 percent increase in new license sales internationally with more than a 50 percent increase from Europe.

The company also reported that the number of managed devices (computers that are controlled by ManageSoft solutions) — a key metric of its market penetration — has risen 58 percent over the same six-month period.

"It's gratifying to see that the market for enterprise software continues to recognize the value that our software management solutions can provide," said Walter J. Elliot, chief executive officer of ManageSoft. "These recent results — from both new and long-time customers — are the latest market confirmation of our ability to directly improve the capability of IT to control their software infrastructures."

In the second quarter, ManageSoft signed new or expanded licensing agreements with a wide variety of customers, including the following subset:

  • ACA Aberdeen Proving Ground
  • Alphawest (Australia)
  • County Fire Authority (Australia)
  • Great Plains Energy Services (Kansas Power and Light)
  • NEC (Australia)
  • Parliament of Victoria (Australia)
  • Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. (a former division of Boeing)

Executing strategy at rapid clip

In the second quarter of fiscal 2006 ended December 31, 2005, ManageSoft continued to execute its business strategy with partnerships and product developments, including:

Support for Microsoft® Network Access Protection Initiative — In Q2, ManageSoft announced its support for Microsoft's Network Access Protection initiative, a comprehensive platform for automatically monitoring and controlling access to corporate networks and updating non-compliant computers prior to granting access. With Microsoft Network Access Protection support, ManageSoft Security Manager will enable IT administrators to define policies and automate remediation steps that must be completed before Network Access Protection issues a compliant health certificate and permits the user to access corporate network resources. These additional layers of security help enterprises prevent virus attacks, reduce security risks, prevent breaches and unauthorized access, and improve compliance. ManageSoft will ship the ManageSoft Security Manager, supporting Microsoft Network Access Protection, when Microsoft makes Network Access Protection services available as part of its next version of Microsoft Windows server release codenamed "Longhorn."

Membership in the Microsoft SecureIT Alliance — ManageSoft also announced it has joined the SecureIT Alliance, a Microsoft-led coalition of industry partners working to promote customer-driven, innovative security solutions. SecureIT Alliance members are building innovative new security features and products to address the needs of the industry and of mutual customers. ManageSoft expects participation in the SecureIT Alliance will accelerate its ability to deliver higher-quality and more robust solutions to address customers' PC security issues.

Support for new Apple® iMac® Clients with Intel® Core Duo® Processors — Recently, ManageSoft announced that its suite of software management solutions now supports all Apple Macintosh computers that use the new Intel® Core Duo® processors. ManageSoft products are Universal Binary products, which means that the same product/binaries can be installed on both traditional PowerPC-based and new Intel-based Apple Macintoshes. As a result, all Apple users can take advantage of ManageSoft's complete range of software-management capabilities.
